Hello Seniors! We are very excited to announce that The
William D. Squires Scholarship application is available.
Some of you may have
read one of our previous scholarship applications. There has been
one important change this year to the eligibility requirements
The EFC must be below $8,000 to apply in 2009. In the past,
the maximum was $10,000
Before
you print the application, please verify that you are eligible.
Applicants must meet all 5 requirements.
Eligibility Requirements for The William D. Squires Scholarship:
1. Applicants must be seniors, residing in Ohio, graduating
from an Ohio high school in 2009.
2. Applicants must demonstrate financial need:

** The EFC
must be under $8,000.

If you are a finalist, your Financial Aid Award letter must show
a minimum "need" of $3,000. You are not required to
have your letter prior to our deadline.

3.
Applicants must have a specific career goal, be highly motivated, and
have a burning desire to reach their career goal.
4. Applicant must be planning to attend an accredited
post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis by the
end of 2009. The school of choice does not need to be in Ohio but
must have a program leading to a degree in the student's chosen
field.
5. Although this is not an academically based scholarship,
applicants must demonstrate academic promise and good character. A
minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA is required.

This is the only change in the eligibility requirements from last year.
The EFC maximum has been changed from $9999 to $7999.

find it helpful.
Special note:
This is a financial need-based scholarship. You will need to
submit your FAFSA and receive your final SAR with your actual EFC
before you can determine if you are eligible to apply for this
scholarship. Therefore, it is recommended that
you submit your FAFSA as early as possible.
